If you are an applicant without an FAC and need to undergo a period of training, this will be a minimum of 3 months and possibly longer. Your club training officer will keep you informed of your progress and be able to advise you.
You should expect –
Induction – every person attends an induction, this covers learning about –
The facilities
Significant members or staff.
Introduction to law regarding clubs and firearms.
Introduction into firearms safety
Dry training may be indoor or outdoor
Range facility and management
Please note that no live shooting takes place on this induction.
Subsequent visits will include –
all aspects required to complete the competency test, including
safe operation of firearms
live firing
practice sessions
shooting from different positions
Once all aspects of the above have been covered you will then be in a position to take the clubs annual competency test on passing that you will be invited to apply for full membership.
